Mau Mau is a North Devon based artist whose name originated after a four month stay in Ghana with a group of Rastafarians from the Twelve Tribes temple who as a result of not be able to pronounce his name ‘Mark’ ended up referring to him as the now well known Mau Mau. Mau Mau has spent time travelling around the world painting everything from street walls, billboards and surfboards to the odd shipwreck and canvas. Along with his ‘fine art’ he has been responsible for an array of album covers, including the likes of Roots Manuva, Herbalizer, Skitz and Rodney P. In addressing environmental issues, Mau Mau’s diverse range of work has also stretched to pieces for Greenpeace, THTC and Surfers Against Sewage.
